Boyum IT and SAP Business One win the award for best ERP implementation in 2016[05.12.2016]
Boyum IT and customer EIK Machine (AGCO) received the award for a successful project that included pretty much every factor that would usually be classed as a risk in an ERP project. It was an international project with intricate functional requirements, a high degree of integration complexity, many stakeholders and 34 deployments which were all implemented without a minute of downtime for any dealer.
Thursday, November 24, 2016 - Boyum IT attended the Danish conference FORRETNINGSsystemer, the largest conference on business-critical solutions in Denmark, which is designed to give a clear and insightful overview of the business systems market.
At the conference an ERP prize is to the supplier and company which have distinguished themselves together by implementing the most excellent ERP project of that year. This award is given to the team that deserves to be honored for striving to complete the successful implementation of a new ERP system or the re-implementation of an existing one.
The emphasis is on the story behind the implementation and the experience of those involved, which can in turn benefit other decision-makers that plan to implement an ERP, CRM, BI or HR business system for their company.
Boyum IT chose to nominate the company's SAP Business One implementation at EIKmaskin, the purpose of which was to give each dealer or branch a modern and user-friendly ERP system that supported all of the business processes that the individual dealer requires, while at the same time integrating with all of the back-end systems such as AGCO Group, in order to handle the sale and service of agricultural machinery.
Boyum IT's Nordic development department is located in Denmark, while EIK's IT department is in England, and the project was managed and rolled out from Norway. There was evident jubilation when the announcement was made that ‘Boyum IT and Eikmaskin have won’.
Eikmaskin were very pleased with the ERP project: “The fantastically motivated and active participation of all employees in the Eik chain has helped to fulfill this ambitious rollout plan with no downtime or delays”, explains Stig Ove Johnsen, CIO at Eikmaskin.
Boyum IT is very proud of the award, which is a recognition of both SAP Business One and, more specifically, our talented consultants who have worked for months to implement the solution at the many different Eik centres throughout Norway. "All parties were involved early in the process, and the proactive involvement of our users has not just been an inspiration for us in the project group - it encouraged inspired ideas and invaluable guidance in customizing the great platform that SAP Business One provides for the Eik chain, both now and in the future”, says Ketil Ødegaard, CEO of Boyum IT Norway.
SAP themselves are thrilled about the project: "Successful ERP implementations cannot be executed by one person alone or measured by a single parameter. Typically it will be a team effort with many skills in the game that makes the difference that major projects like this one will succeed, which is said to be the case for Boyum IT. This recognition confirms the strong partnership that we experience along with Boyum IT, "says Nicholas Rouse, Director, SAP Business Partners Nordic & Baltics.
